Rabbi Goldstein of Houston Texas is a true mensch and deserves this honor whether he’s Lubavitch or not.. He is everywhere helping everyone 24/7. Always with a huge smile and a song. Teacher, mentor, Chaplain, Jewish special needs supporter, camp director, the list goes on and on. He impacts hundreds and hundreds of Jews -Vote for Rabbi Dovid Goldstein!

This does not bring honor to the Rebbe or shluchim. Go do a mitzvah, that will bring more honor.

http://www.jewishcommunityheroes.org/nominees/profile/dmitriy-salita/ Dmitriy Salita Brooklyn, New York How is your Hero working to make the world a better place? Observant Russian Jewish boxer Dmitriy Salita is a true role model and hero to his generation. Dmitriy Salita is the first religious boxer in the world. Let’s all push hard that at least one shliach should end up in the top ten. Rabbi Dovid Tiechtel is only 646 votes behind the number 10 spot. Let’s make it happen!

RABBI DOVID GOLDSTEIN!
October 5, 2010 1:58 pm

THE MAN DESERVES IT ALL! HE ARRANGES MINYANIM AND KOSHER FOOD FOR INMATES. HE IS THE FOUNDATION FOR THE FREINDSHIP CIRCLE IN HOUSTON. HE GIVES TORAH CLASSES IN A FEW LANGUAGES. DID I FAIL TO MENTION, HE RUNS A CHABAD HOUSE IN WEST HOUSTON! OH YEAH HE ALSO HELPS WITH CHABAD OUTREACH OF HOUSTON. THAT MEANS HE VISITS SCHOOLS AND EDUCATES THE YOUTH ALL ABOUT YIDISHKEIT i.e. HE RUNS THE SHOFAR FACTORY, MAKES MATZO WITH THE CHILDREN AT PESACH TIME AND ORGANIZES THE OLIVE PRESS DURING CHANUKAH. THE MAN IS CLEARLY AN EXAMPLE FOR EVERYONE AND IS THE HARDEST WORKING… Read more »

voting for someone just because they are lubavitch makes a joke out of this contest. the point is to vote for people who you feel are heroes because of something they’ve done and they touched you. personally, i would vote for lifshitz for this reason. being a lubavitcher does not make you a hero for this contest. yes, a shliach on campus is a hero. but so is a homemaker on Crown st. we are all heroes. if you’re talking money from kohl’s, anyone can vote for anyone for any reason. but here they are trying to determine real heroes,… Read more »

Use some Brains!

It would be nice that a Shliach of the Rebbe wins the Jewish Hero, NOT just someone who is Lubavitch. It’s NOT so much who, rather that a Shliach should win.

I.E. if Lubavitchers are going to scatter their votes for the people thy like, just look at the number of the winning Heros, it’s very unlikley for a Shliach to win.

So Just vote for a SHLIACH which has the most chance of winning and vote EVERY 12 HOURS!

and let the Rebbes Name be glorified as a result!

this article forgets to mention dmitriy salita
October 5, 2010 12:13 pm

salita is a lubavitcher as well why is he not mentioned…

How can this be??
October 5, 2010 11:51 am

There should NOT be ONE winner. EACH person that is “running” is a winner already. Maybe a “Heroes Hall of Fame” should be the case and include ALL the wonderful people that put others before themselves and do SO many mitzvas for the community. Don’t ya think??

Dovid Tiechtel is a well deserved and very worthy nominee. Please vote! It’s a big Kiddush Lubavitch if we push Shluchim to the top. Please vote for the other Shliach/Lubavitchers as well.

salita is lubavitch
October 5, 2010 4:59 am

Rabbi Yisroel Bernath and Chana Novack are almost in the top 20, help him get there!
October 5, 2010 12:12 am
We love Chana Novack! Vote for her too.
October 4, 2010 11:57 pm

Chana R. Novack’s leadership is central to the success of the Chabad at Washington University in St. Louis, where she is an educator to undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff, and other members of the community. Chana plans and hosts weekly Shabbat and holiday dinners for hundreds of students, creating an inclusive space where all are embraced no matter their level of Jewish background or observance.
