A frum Jewish man using a selfie stick at the terror attack scene in London on Wednesday drew outrage on Twitter for insensitivity.
Video footage shows the man trying to capture the perfect image as dozens of paramedics were busy treating the injured at Westminster Bridge.
A knife-wielding terror suspect was shot dead by police after ploughing a 4×4 into people and then storming the Houses of Parliament, leaving at least 20 injured, The Sun reported.
In the midst of the chaos, one person was focused on the optics.
“Footage shows the man, who wears sunglasses and what appears to be a Kippah, at first using the selfie stick to film or photo the scene near Parliament, before turning the device on himself,” The Sun wrote.
Many Twitter users responded with outrage over the man’s actions which were captured by Sky News cameras.
Kyle Brooks wrote: “A woman has died. Many people have ‘catastrophic injuries’ a police man was stabbed and this is how people act…”
Billy Meredith wrote: “Arrest Mr selfie stick, what a vile scumbag he is.”
Another user, Alice Palmer wrote: “This makes me sick. Taking a bloody selfie 🙁 London stay strong #PrayForLondon #Westminster.”

he is clearly standing behind the cordon with other reporters.
I understand that what bother people is the fact that he took a selfie, a selfie is more than a picture, a selfie express a feeling of proudness; I’m proud to be here at that moment! That feeling is totally wrong to have when people are suffering, and even more wrong to publicize it.
On the other hand, maybe the guy didn’t get the information about the dead the and the wounded.
But really, I totally understand the complains about this guy even if there was other people taking pictures too.

why is only the yid mentioned??? why dont they mention the people killed instead of mentioning him?
That is a very interesting vort. Tfs
So the Muslim murders people and the world condemns the Jew, hmm reminds me of the whole worlds stance on Israel…
he is trying to say עמו אנוכי בצרה
to draw away attention from another much worse picture showing an injured person lying on the ground with people attending to him while a woman in a hijab walks by talking on the phone oblivious to the carnage around her.
We cant criticise the I-slammers so lets find a Jew to focus attention to distract from the real villians here.
Just my opinion. I don’t think he was making light of it. I’m sure if you’d ask him, he’d be as outraged as anyone by terrorism
both he and his wife work for a Jewish news agency, but they don’t look professional and it does look in poor taste to say the least. A frum looking Jew is not supposed to walk into a non- Kosher restaurant even to make a phone call. Why, because it makes people notice and think the wrong thing (chillul Hashem). Different circumstance same idea.
Just wait they will blame the whole attack on the Jews and how we celebrate it.
Look at the video –there is a man bumping heads with his girlfriend and being giddy. That is horrific at the scene of a tragedy. While I think this may have been in poor taste, it’s totally common in 2017 where everyone livestream everything
Yeah, right. Your imagination is running riot.
At the Beilis trial in Czarist Russia, the prosecution was trying to claim that the Jews consider other people to be sub-human. One of their “proofs” was that Chazal say אתם קרואים אדם” (only Jews are referred to as ‘man’). The lawyer for the defense consulted with Rabbanim and came back with the following answer: “There are a few different words that mean man in Hebrew, but Odom is the only one that does not have a plural form. People of other nationalities may be accused of a crime, but only the individual is put on trial; he is seen… Read more »
stop making excuses for this disgusting act ! what really annoys me is as soon as someone jewish is inappropriate and makes a chilul Hashem , everyone defends and waves the anti semitic card . This guy was clearly no reporter , he had his wife with him. maybe he thought he could make a quick buck , which is sick . he should know better , the torah is all about compassion , respect and a Kiddush Hashem! By defending him you are doing more harm and not teaching our children that this is wrong on all levels !… Read more »
I’M not going to judge his actions. All I’m wondering is why collive is acting like some tabloid reporting on what a few Internet trolls think about something?
Grow up chevrah
For the media to show raw pics unedited of vial scenes or other people’s sufferings but this guy is singled out for taking pics…
These are a few twitter users who aren’t famous! The kid quoted as an ‘actor’, is an unheard of talent show contestant! At this day anyone can pick a few tweeets to create a narrative they’re going for! Non-story!
Sorry, my friends, the velt doesn’t follow “Dan l’kaf zechus!”
This is just another opportunity for British haters of Jews to take an opportunistic pot shot at a Jew (or perhaps at a non-Jew photoshopped into a Jew! How hard is it to add in what looks like a yarmulke!), based on “circumstantial evidence” which is enough for them to embroider a whole story of a worst-case scenario — as a means to try to spread their Jew-hatred.
Nothing more, nothing less!
Their not famous people, their tweets mean nothing. Don’t worry about it, no one cares what they think.
I don’t see why it’s so different than taking a picture with a phone. Just because the stick is usually used by teens and tourists?
There is one guy like laughing there
Come on
He is trying to make a buck
I don’t see a chillul Hashem there
All the anti Semite would have said anything just by seing a her there standing
People got killed, and your worried about him taking a selfie, I am sure he was not the only one taking a selfie
How do they know he’s taking a selfie maybe he’s taking a video of the scene?? It’s not good to be quick to judge!! I’m almost 100% positive he’s not taking a selfie!!
Looked like his wife was with him. If he didn’t look like an Orthodox Jew his actions would have drawn no attention. Facts of life for a Jew.
Some of the reporters of Ami have a way of working themselves into every story. Obviously, if you are wearing a yarmulka, realize that a thousand eyes are watching you and judging you and that there is a triple standard, one for people, one for Jews, and the most harsh is against frum Jews. That being said, it does point to the hypocrisy of the media, who was calling this terrorist ‘an Asian’ man, when in fact it was, obviously, a black Muslim. That they are up in arms over this, and not on the heinous assault in the heart… Read more »
There’s another fellow taking a photo, and perhaps this Yid is sharing photos with a Jewish news agency or site.
there would have been no mention of him doing anything. That’s the facts of life.
The same people who are complaining about the issue here being a chilul hashem are the same people who think that the biggest problem of this attack is “how to make sure this dosnt cause people to become islamaphobic.
Sorry can anyone explain what the deal is ,about a by stander or anyone ( whoever it may be) taking pictures or videos of the scene??
I’m not sure I’m understanding this article ?
Please explain
Thank you
Outrage!? A few tweets is nothing welcome to 2017 and selfei stick it’s not only for smiley selfei proposes, and besides unimportant things like his drawd more attention from people then an outcry an anger concerning the attack!
hes taking a news report….
a chillul Hashem? no
Poor taste? maybee
Anti semitism? definately
Who took a picture of him taking a picture?
You do NOT know exactly why he was taking the photo.
Maybe he’s a reporter?
He or she, all of us must know we’re here to set a good example. We will always be judged more critically than the rest of the world. If there’s a catastrophe & we stand around like a curiosity seeker, etc. We will be called insensitive & worse. Our purpose is to set a higher than ordinary standard in this world.
How ghoulish!
A Muslim Terrorist murders 4 people and wounds dozens, the media all over the world is making millions over the coverage of the event, and people are upset about a Jew taking a photo.
Yea, a Muslim terrorist kills 4 and wounds 40 and people are outraged at a Jew taking a photo.
crazy world
What about the other person in the video taking a photo, as I’m sure many others did.
