Twins Inspire Through Song

Enfield & Winchmore Hill Synagogue in North London, (England, UK) has been established for a little over 60 years and, although essentially a nusach ashkenaz shul, has had Lubavitcher Rabbis for much of that time.

First the late Rabbi Moshe Golomb obm, then Rabbi Leivi Brackman, and currently Rabbi Yitzchok Tzvi Sufrin, shliach to Lubavitch HQ in England.

This past Friday night the shul’s hall was packed to capacity for a Friday night meal expertly and professionally organized by Rebbetzin Tzipora Sufrin. The amazing aspect is that the membership is made up mostly of senior citizens, and to see them come out in large numbers on a cold wintery night, is a tribute to the Sufrin’s success in revitalizing the community and its growth prospects for the future.

The star attraction of the evening were 11 year old twins Efrayim and Yosef Chaim of the Sufrin clan who entertained and encouraged the assembled with a wide array of songs and niggunim. With their sweet voices they introduced and taught niggunim such as Shamiel’s niggun. They beautifully and successfully enhanced the theme of bridging the gap between the old and the young.
