Twibar Falafel in Crown Heights, which was on the verge of closing down due to the Covid-19 shutdown, announced that it will be reopening and accepting order this Monday, June 22.
The Mediterranean eatery, under CHK supervision, features falafel in various forms (in a pita, in a lafa and as a burger) along with shakshuka, sabich sandwiches, hummus plates, potato and veggie fried cigars and soups.
With its reopening at their location at 140 Empire Blvd Suite 2, the owners said they will be expanding their menu. “In addition to our fabulous vegetarian menu, we added an exciting new meat menu,” they posted on Facebook.
During the shutdown, the eatery ran a crowdfunding campaign to help keep it financially afloat. “Thank you to all our loyal customers who waited so patiently for us to open and huge thank you to all those who were so generous and contributed to our fundraiser!! We are forever grateful!!” they wrote.
The reopening is part of Phase Two of Reopening New York City on Monday. As part of the Open Restaurants program, the City established an expedited approval process that will allow restaurants and bars to self-certify their eligibility for curb lane and sidewalk seating using a new, streamlined online application process available starting on June 19.
Twibar Falafel will start to take phone orders on Monday, 10:30 AM at 347-627-4141 and twibarfalafel.com
