Finding high-quality yet affordable tutoring as well as a convenient place to learn is often a frustrating experience.
With an efficient and easy-to-access booking system, The Crown Heights Tutoring and Study Center recently opened to fill this need. A beautiful space accommodates tutors and students, with a focus on small-group tutoring.
Launched in June, just in time to meet the needs of students studying for their Regent exams, the Tutoring and Study Center is now fully operational. Experienced teachers are available to tutor a wide range of subjects for middle and high school students. The center is designed to make on-demand, quality tutoring easily available and affordable in a setting where students will feel relaxed and motivated to learn. The center also provides a distraction-free environment where girls can come to study, away from their busy homes.
The center brings together tutors and students in a beautiful space with ergonomic seating areas conducive to focused study. Whether for scheduled tutoring groups, or for individual students who are looking for quiet study space, the tutoring and study center is a comfortable and inviting place to work.
The center also features a beautiful, glass-enclosed room that makes it possible for some students to choose a quiet place to study while tutoring groups meet in other areas.
Tutors at the center, located on Albany Avenue in the heart of Crown Heights, are all highly experienced teachers who are eager to help students improve their academic skills. With One-on-One, Partner, or Small-Group tutoring options, students can get exactly what they need, when they need it.
Partner-Up and Team-Up options allow students to share tutoring sessions with friends, making tutoring affordable and providing highly effective and enjoyable study that fits students’ specific needs.
Math Study Hall is another convenient way for high school girls to get study help without the expense of traditional tutoring. Multiple group seating areas allow students to work individually or with a group of friends, while a professional math teacher is available to help as needed. Whether studying for a test or just catching up on classwork, math help is easily accessible!
Peer study groups and customized small-group tutoring have been popular choices among high school girls studying for midterm exams. These groups are organized by the students themselves, which encourages them to take responsibility for getting their learning needs met.
“Often, just a few tutoring sessions can measurably improve a student’s classroom learning for the rest of the school year,” says Shterna Block, high school educator and director of the tutoring center.
Students can also come to the center for high-quality GED (high school equivalency) preparation classes. All four components of the GED are currently offered by experienced teachers at the center. Separate hours are set aside for girls and for boys.
In addition to high academic standards, teachers at the center also uphold community and school values. Students and parents can feel comfortable seeing tutors as role models in a setting that complements the school and home environments.
The center uses an easy and efficient reservation system with an online calendar for tutors to post availability and study groups. Students can reserve sessions for themselves or for a group of friends, and private tutors can also reserve space to meet with their own students. A simple reservation app truly makes quality tutoring just a click away!
The Tutoring and Study Center is open on Sundays from 1:00–9:00 P.M., and Mondays through Thursdays from 6:30–10:00 P.M.
Math Study Hall has after-school and evening hours on Mondays and Wednesdays. It is open from 4:45–6:45 P.M. and from 7:30–9:30 P.M.
To visit the center at 480 Albany Avenue (gated entrance), or to reserve a study space, request a tutor, or join a scheduled group, call or WhatsApp 646-397-9657 or book online at www.tutoringspaces.com.

Great initiative. hatzlacha rabba!
The what – the space – looks inviting, and the why – place for tutoring – is powerful. Now, if only this type space wouldn’t be necessary because schooling would be sufficiently robust, that would be even more celebratory worthy. Until then, glad to see this initiative.
No matter how hard a school works, you will always have students who need that individual attention. It’s like saying ‘if only parents did their jobs, we wouldn’t need therapists’ ‘if only people ate healthy, we wouldn’t need doctors.’ Come on, let’s just cheer this on and be happy we have it.
This is the best thing I’ve seen! Pure genius
So awsome!
