The administration of President Donald Trump is once again acting on its friendly and highly supportive stance with Israel – this time in regards to the Jewish settlements.
The Jerusalem Post reports that for the first time, the U.S. is turning its recognition that settlements in Judea and Samaria are not illegal into action on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman are set to meet in Ariel, the capital of the Samaria region, to remove all territorial limitations from all agreements between Israel and the US.
This will expand scientific cooperation with Israel to include those areas and the Golan Heights, it was reported.
In November of last year, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that the US was returning to the position of President Ronald Reagan‘s administration that “the establishment of Israeli civilian settlements in the West Bank is not per se inconsistent with international law.”
Another reason to vote Trump!
What does he have anything to do wih it? Stop treating this man like our king. Israel is it’s own country. We need to stop having America dictate what is do in done.
I am sure you are writing this from the Holy Land…. ya I thought so…
“This will expand scientific cooperation with Israel to include those areas and the Golan Heights, it was reported.”
In other words, it has effects on US policy. You will, I hope, grant that Trump is president of the United States and sets federal policy.
