This Sunday, Chevra Ahavas Yisroel Shul of Crown Heights will welcome a brand new Torah at their recently acquired location at 306 Albany Avenue.
The Torah is sponsored by the Sidof family, in honor of their mother, Simcha bas Shlomo.
The Shul, which is also marking their 2nd year anniversary, will celebrate the siyum with a day of celebration.
At 3:00 pm the newly-completed Torah will be led down Albany Avenue, accompanied by a procession, a volunteer decorated truck and live music.
The Torah will be welcomed at their current Shul at 612 Maple Street, where there will be festive hakafos and dancing.
At 4:00 PM, there will be a grand outdoor Menorah lighting of their 10 foot Menorah. The entire community is invited to join, and enjoy music, latkes and hot drinks.
Later, after Menorah lighting at home, the festivites will continue with an elegant cocktail and dinner party for adults.
