Adding to the many challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, Rabbi Anchelle Perl at Chabad Mineola in New York was faced with officiating an increased number of funerals of young people passing from complications from mental illness and substance abuse.
Determined to help these grieving families, he organized a Memorial Tribute on Zoom dedicated to all these young people. This allowed parents and friends a venue to express their hearts and find a level of comfort.
The program included wise insights and advice from the clinical social worker and therapist Lisa Rosenblatt, LCSW.
Rabbi Perl shared the importance of focusing on the neshama of those lost, “our life at the present moment, can be elevated, when we are more knowledgeable of where our lost loved ones are currently, allowing that inner wisdom impact us in our current lives.
It brings us a new perspective on being able to turn this tragedy into an opportunity for personal growth. The end result is an inner peace with more harmonious living.”
