Shmulik Kravitsky, owner of Sky 2000 Travel, a travel agency located in Crown Heights, has launched a digital billboard ad campaign inspired by the popular “Be Like Bill” meme series.
The “Be like Bill” social media memes typically provide tongue-in-cheek advice about the correct way to behave online or how to handle other questions of modern etiquette.
The campaign, which will be displayed on screens along Kingston Avenue, features 30-second video clips highlighting five compelling reasons why it makes more sense to book travel with a knowledgeable and experienced travel agent rather than relying on online booking platforms.

One of the stories presented in the campaign involves Rabbi F., who approached Sky 2000 Travel on a Monday before July 4th. He had flown in from Phoenix but experienced several delays and ultimately had his flight canceled. With a wife and five children waiting for him back home, Rabbi F. faced the daunting challenge of being unable to find alternative flights for many days, which meant he would not make it home before Shabbos. However, thanks to the expertise of the travel agents at Sky 2000 Travel, they were able to arrange a flight for him, ensuring that he would be able to return home the following night.

Another story showcased in the campaign revolves around a woman who had traveled for a two-week cancer treatment to New York and had purchased business class seats for her and a companion with mileage points. Unfortunately, her condition worsened during her stay, necessitating an early return home, a week before her scheduled flight. Sky 2000 not only secured seats for her and her companion on short notice, with their connections, El Al came to her rescue and upgraded the seats to business class, honoring the tickets from the later flight without any additional fees or unnecessary complications, providing her with the comfort she desperately needed during her difficult journey.

Another story highlights a lost suitcase following an El Al flight, which the passenger discovered after traveling had never been given an identification tag, and was nowhere to be found. With Sky 2000’s connections, a Ben Gurion airport staff member himself went to hunt for the lost luggage, among the thousands of bags. To the customer’s delight, the staff member located his luggage, which he thought he would never see again.

In addition to these compelling anecdotes, the campaign emphasizes the travel agency’s ability to expedite passport issues. The campaign highlights a case in which the company successfully resolved passport problems for a client.
Shmulik tells COLlive.com: “Even after seeking help from a prominent political figure, the client was unable to find a solution. However, we were able to navigate the bureaucratic hurdles and assist the client in obtaining their passport!” he says, showcasing the agency’s expertise and dedication to their customers.
Shmulik Kravitsky’s decision to base the campaign on the well-known “Be Like Bill” meme series adds a touch of humor and familiarity to the message. By presenting real-life examples of how travel agents can provide personalized assistance and overcome challenges that arise during travel, the campaign effectively highlights the value of utilizing their services rather than relying solely on online booking platforms.
With the rise of online booking platforms, this campaign serves as a reminder that travel agents offer unique expertise, personal connections, and the ability to provide exceptional assistance in complex situations. As the digital billboards along Kingston Avenue continue to capture the attention of passersby, the campaign hopes to encourage travelers to consider the advantages of working with a travel agent for their future travel plans.
