Crown Heights Jewish Community Council is joining the Flatbush and Marine Park Jewish communities and several major Jewish organizations in sponsoring an evening with Congressman Hakeem Jeffries to focus on Iran’s nuclear threat.
The event will take place on Tuesday, August 11 at the Flatbush Park Jewish Center – 6363 Avenue U at 7:30 pm.
As Congress debates the resolution to reject the deal with Iran, New York’s Democratic representatives in Washington are going to be the key to overriding the expected veto by the President, organizers said.
The Crown Heights Jewish Community Council is urging residents to attend the event, to make the community’s voices heard.
“Representative Hakeem Jeffries represents a large part of Brooklyn close to Crown Heights, and has been a good friend of the Crown Heights community,” said Rabbi Eli Cohen, Executive Director of CHJCC. “His colleague Yvette Clarke will certainly be watching his decision closely as well,” he said.
Organizers of the event say that a large turnout against the deal is essential to encourage Congressman Jeffries in his decision and prevent the tragedy that will ensue from a nuclear Iran and the release to Iran of 150 billion dollars that will almost certainly be used to promote terrorism.
“Flatbush Park Jewish Center is only a twenty minute drive down Ralph Avenue from Crown Heights,” said Cohen. “It’s not a lot to give for the security of Israel and the world. I hope that every resident of the community will attend.”
I just signed up to attend.
what is his view ? will he vote yes or no ?
The “other side” has plans and money to “AstroTurf” the event with paid/unpaid goons. Numbers count.
Can you arrange transportation? Please? I would love to go.
In order to people to attend u got to get buses and advertising
We must try to persuade Senator Gillibrand to change her vote to no, she said that she would vote for the deal. It is a disgrace that a senator who represents America’s largest Jewish population will vote for the deal, we must get her to change her vote!
