In honor of the Rebbe’s 114th birthday and the upcoming holiday of Pesach, 3 tanks converged on the streets of the Greater Toronto area in an effort to bring the awareness of Passover to the many passersby and shoppers.
The day’s events took place on Sunday, Tes Nissan with 3 tanks parading out of Chabad Lubavitch headquarters of Southern Ontario and heading down Bathurst Street, one of the busiest streets in Toronto, where thousands of people looked on as the Pesach spirit and joy was felt throughout.
The tanks were ‘equipped’ with tens of bochurim and kids, which then continued on to distribute hundreds of matzos and guides for the upcoming Passover holiday.
At the same time tens of men stepped up on to the tanks to don tefillin, while hundreds of neshek packages were handed out.
The parade was arranged and organized by Sholom Ceitlin with the guiding help of Mendy Goldberg, who worked tirelessly for weeks in advance to make this parade and mivtzoim possible.
An additional thank you to the following bochurim for their devotion in helping prepare the tanks for the parade: Levi Ackerman, Zelig Ackerman, Shneur Zalman Ackerman, Shmulik Serebryanski, Nachum Serebryanski, Sholom Rapoport and Yisroel Cohen.
A well deserved thank you goes to the Memunim, bochurim and drivers who manned the tanks, and a big Yasher Koach to the Toronto Anash in helping fund the project.
