Israeli Minister of Public Diplomacy and the Diaspora Affairs Yuli Edelstein met with the leaders of the Jewish Russian Community in Toronto last week.
A reception for him was organized by the Jewish Russian Community Centre (JRCC), headed by Chabad Rabbi Yoseph Y. Zaltzman.
It was held at the home Inna and Val Levitan, and was joined by the JRCC President Alex Shnaider, and the Chair of the JRCC Board Igor Korenzvit, together with a larger group of JRCC Supporters.
Also on hand were the members of the Russian Task Force and other major leaders and donors within the Russian speaking community who share the same background and values as the minister.
Edelstein was born in Chernovitz, Ukraine, and immigrated to Israel after being a Prisoner of Zion. He has served as an advisor Benjamin Netanyahu, today the Prime Minister of Israel.
