The Mayor of Toronto John Tory attended a public menorah lighting at Mel Lastman Square together with various dignitaries from all levels of government.
Over 300 people attended the event hosted by Rabbi Yoseph Zaltzman of the Jewish Russian Community Centre.
Also in attendance were Shelley Carrol – Ward 17 Toronto, MPP Mitzy Holder, MP Majid Jowhari, Alan Shefman – Ward 5 Vaughan, Linda Jackson – Local and Regional Councilor for Vaughan, MPP Gila Martow, James , MP Michael Levitt, Rabbi Mendel Zaltzman – CEO of JRCC, MPP Roman Igor Korenzvit – Chair of the JRCC Board, MP Ali Ehssasi, MP Peter Kent, David Sherman – YRDSC Ward 1 Markham and Ward 5 Vaughan.
