Yeshivas Toras Emes Chabad in Jerusalem recently hosted its “day of partnership” bringing together 100 participants for a special meeting to support the institution.
Yeshivat Torath Emeth is the first Yeshivat Tomchei Temimim (and Hassidic) in Eretz Israel. It was established at the request of the Rebbe Rashab in 1912, it was the first Chabad and Chassidic Yeshiva operating in the land of Israel. The Rebbe Rashab sent 8 young men and a Mashpia from the Yeshiva in Russia.
A year later, the Rebbe Rashab named the Yeshivah “Toras Emes”, a special name indicating its eternity. Over the years, the Yeshiva received blessings and rare letters from the Rebbe Rashab, the Rebbe Rayatz and the Rebbe.
Speakers at the meeting highlighted the importance of the institutions that educate Chabad boys from a young age until adulthood.
Mashpia Rabbi Binyamin Zilberstrom read blessings the Rebbe gave to supporters of institution, while Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Segal, Rosh Kollel Tzemach Tzedek, praised the importance of the special relationship between the Yeshivah staff and its graduates.
He spoke of the tremendous importance of such a connection for many years and even decades after the student had completed his studies in the Yeshiva.
Additional speakers were Rabbi Chaim Shalom Deitsch, Rosh Kollel Tzemach Tzedek and Mashpia in the Yeshiva; Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Ofan, Mashpia in the Yeshiva Gedola; and R’ Yudi Bloy.
