With school closed today, Labor Day, due to Eastern Parkway being closed off, Oholei Torah’s 6th and 7th Grade students were offered an optional seder in honor of Chai Elul, the birthdays of the Baal Shemtov and The Alter Rebbe.
Over a hundred students attended the special seder, which began with shacharis and a delicious breakfast.
As the students enjoyed the gourmet food, Rabbi Yossi Shemtov, of Tucson, Arizona, farbrenged for the bochurim and, giving them chizuk to continue being great students and chassidim of The Rebbe. He noted how impressed he was with their demeanors and their davening.
Afterward, the students split into chavrusas to learn Chai Elul sichos, and class by class, were treated to MikDash 3.0, the world’s only interactive exploration of the Beis Hamikdosh.
Students were amazed by the stunningly accurate environment, and enthralled by the interactive nature of every keili and room inside the ancient structure.
The students learned over 30 lessons weaved throughout the experience coming away with a wealth of first-hand knowledge.
Through the use of TorahVR technology, students were transported back in time to experience the practical mitzvos in a way that was previously impossible, giving them a deeper understanding of the history and significance of this funduamental tenet of yiddishkeit.
After over a hundred students from Oholei Torah experienced TorahVR, Rabbi Yehoshua Lustig, a principal in Oholei Torah who arranged the event said, “I was really impressed with the whole operation. The team was friendly, calm, well-staffed and well-prepared.”
Upon her son returning home, one mother immediately emailed Rabbi Lustig to express sincere appreciation and to thank him “for arranging the beautiful program. Mendel came home very excited about the Bais Hamikdosh. All the Keilim became alive and real.”
TorahVR’s success in bringing MikDash, just one of their many offerings, to over 20,000 people worldwide is a testament to the power of kosher technology to revolutionize how we learn and experience the Torah.
