A new Torah is being written in honor of California Shliach Rabbi Yitzi Hurwitz, fulfilling a 15 year dream.
Almost one year ago, Rabbi Hurwitz, the dedicated Shliach in Temecula, California, was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). Since then, Rabbi Hurwitz’s ability to function as he was accustomed to has been challenged. He cannot talk anymore, he cannot sing, he cannot play guitar, he cannot dance.
Rabbi Hurwitz’s 42nd birthday is coming up on Beis Adar Beis, and his family is praying for a miracle. “Yitzi’s spirit is the same, he is a happy soul that did not change,” a family member said. “The Yeshuos and Refuos he needs will come, Hashem will surprise us all, he will get well and live to be 180.”
The Hurwitz family invites everyone to be part of the new Torah by purchasing a letter, word, sentence, or more.
The Torah will be completed and welcomed to its new home on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Chabad Jewish Center of Temecula.

most people write a torah after someone passing its so much nicer to do it for someone while they are alive, very few families write a torah for their parents while they are alive.
In the zechus of owning a torah may he have a full recovery
