As the Chabad world marks the first yahrtzeit of one of Montreal’s revered chassidim, Rabbi Sholom Leib Eisenbach, ob”m, a Siyum Sefer Torah is scheduled for that day.
The Sefer Torah commissioned by his children and dedicated to his memory was written in Eretz Yisroel and will be completed at the Eisenbach home in Montreal. Following the completion of the Sefer Torah there will be a procession to Bais Chaya Mushka Seminary where he was a beloved teacher for many years.
Over five decades in Montreal, Rabbi Sholom Leib taught thousands of students who are Shluchim and Shluchos all over the globe. “Immediately, after my father’s passing, members of our Northwest Connecticut community as well as his former students from Montreal reached out to discuss how to perpetuate my father’s legacy,” says Rabbi YY Eisenbach, co-director of Chabad of Northwest Connecticut. “We were blessed that during my father’s lifetime he had such an impact on our community when he visited Connecticut for Simchas and Yomim Tovim. People were inspired when he would farbreng and they felt his passing as a personal, family loss.”
This sparked the idea for a Torah scroll to be dedicated as an everlasting tribute to his memory. Nothing can be more fitting for a person who espoused Torah and its values and taught and inspired so many.
This sacred Torah will find its eternal home at Chabad of Northwest Connecticut’s Southbury-Oxford branch, serving as a beacon of light and a source of wisdom for generations to come. We invite you to be part of this tremendous mitzvah – an opportunity to contribute to Jewish history and leave a lasting impact.
Join us in this noble endeavor as we come together to honor Rabbi Sholom Leib Eisenbach’s memory and ensure that his values continue to inspire and guide us. Let us unite in creating a legacy that will endure for eternity.
Don’t miss this chance to be part of something truly meaningful. Together, let’s write a new Torah and honor the life of Rabbi Sholom Leib Eisenbach.
