Three years after the tragic passing of Nosson Deitsch A”H, his family and friends will be celebrating a Siyum Sefer Torah in his memory.
Nosson was an extremely capable young man; a talented and popular personality who influenced many. With a huge heart and a wide smile, he exuded happiness and warmth, creating a positive atmosphere wherever he went. Countless stories have been told and retold about his friendship, the generosity of his character, and the deep impression he made on all who knew him. Many of these beautiful stories can be read at RememberingNosson.com.
In addition to his exemplary character, Nosson was also a diligent scholar. As a young bochur he would get up significantly earlier than his friends in order to study and memorize page after page of Tanya. By the age of eighteen he had mastered the entire Tanya, able to recite the entire book from memory verbatim. Like everything else he did, he studied with energetic enthusiasm, singing out the words of the text with joyful exuberance. It was obvious to all who saw him so occupied, that for Nosson, studying Gemara was a true pleasure.
After establishing Nosson’s shul and beis medrash in his memory, his family and friends knew that it was only apropos to dedicate a Safer Torah in his name. At long last, the day has arrived when Nosson’s Torah will be completed.
His family and friends would like to invite everyone to attend the Siyum sefer Torah, which will take place on his yahrzeit, this Sunday, Lag Baomer. The siyum will begin at Lubavitch Yeshiva at 4:30, and march from there, in a procession, to the Shul that bears his name, Nosson’s Shul at 534 Empire blvd.
it was a really beautiful event.
And wonderful. Very happy. May his family be comforted thru this and his Neshama should hav an Aliya
