A new Torah was dedicated on Sunday by the Torenheim family in honor of the 10th Yartzeit of R’ Boruch Aizik Hakohen Torenheim OBM.
The Torah was completed by Sofer Rabbi Moshe Klein at Bais Gimpel Chaim Shul, followed by a joyous procession to Getzel’s Shul on Kingston Avenue.
R’ Boruch Torenheim was born in Brazil, and after learning in Kfar Chabad from the age of 12, emigrated to Crown Heights.
While in Crown Heights as a young man, he served as the dorm counselor for bochurim learning in Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim. During that time, he koshered the Yeshiva’s kitchen for Pesach, which was inspected by the Rebbe. He was also trained as a schochet.
After battling an illness for many years, he passed away at the tender age of 64 on כ”ט אייר in 2013. His passing was a profound loss to all who knew him.
