Yasher koach to the organizers. This is a very important talk to have.
While I am not an expert on the subject matter, I do believe that in addition to the possible reasons and causes for this tendency, another possible one is crushing debt. Many people, even with fulltime jobs struggle to make ends meet with the rising costs of living, tuition crisis, etc.
I think all the Robbonim should listen and be more lenient when a couple asks for a hetter, etc, it can save lives. Literally.
