The day has finally arrived. After months of study, hard work and tests, parents around the world will be logging onto thechidon.com website to register for this year’s event – to be held virtually.
Parents of children who have received official notice from their child’s school are invited at 8 pm EST to log on to the website and register their child.
Registration includes:
$ 100 Trip Value
$ 100 Prizes
$ 50 Chidon gifts
$ 35 Event productions
$ 30 Chidon Awards
$ 25 Chidon Sweaters
$ 20 Celebration Box
$ 10 Test Items
$370 Total Value
Because the price is challenging for some parents, especially parents with many children, Tzivos Hashem and Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch have undertaken to subsidize up to half the cost of Registration allowing parents to pay $185 in total for each child.
“With 4,236 children eligible for the chidon this year, the subsidy is more than $800,000,” says Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum, general of the chayolei Tzivos Hashem brigade.
“We hope that anyone that can pay more will do so. Anyone that pays $270 will receive the Rhor subsidy of $100 as well. This way the chidon will be able to continue to operate and thrive.”
In addition, parents are also able to set up their very own fundraising platform by going to chidondrive.com/setup.
“By raising $270 a child can go for free,” Weinbaum explains.
The Chidon prizes are available on a first come, first serve basis. Children are encouraged to register right away to be able to choose their prizes.
TWO OPTIONS TO PAY:
Because many parents want to continue to raise money until registration closes, parents can choose one of two options to pay:
1. To pay right away
2. To hold the money on their credit card until registration ends, giving extra time to fundraise for the balance.
When registration endsm their card will be charged for whatever the balance is remaining.
“Chidon would like to thank the amazing parents for all the support and recognize that the chidon is ONLY possible because of their tremendous support,” Rabbi Weinbaum says.
