In an effort to service our community and to make sure our schools can reopen safely after Yom Tov, ParCare Community Health Network is offering free COVID testing.
Testing will be open for Men, Women, and Children ages 3 and up.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, at Lubavitcher Yeshiva 570 Crown Street.
From 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
The Crown Heights schools strongly encourage everyone to get tested, as a negative Covid19 test result may be a requirement for children of all ages to be allowed back into school after Yom Tov.
To protect fellow testers, we ask that only healthy individuals who either have antibodies or are feeling well come be tested.
Masks must be worn.
For those individuals who are showing signs of COVID, please contact your local Medical Doctor for a test.

Crown Heights’ positivity percentage is at 2.5% because only people with symptoms are getting tested. If it continues this way for another few days we reach 3% and get shut down. (tzrichim oid negatives vdal)
Why should you get tested if you feel fine?

Because currently only people who are feeling sick are getting tested and driving up the percentage. If we hit 3% positives, we get shut down. If everyone tests, it will be much lower than 3% and we’d be able to stay open
Do they want everyone to get tested so they can find more positives and then have a reason to close the schools?
They want everyone to test so that the percentage of positive goes down by raising the negatives (which is actually the more accurate representation of the situation)

The governor already HAS the statistics from all the symptomatic people who are testing. We need to have him the statistics of the general population too, on a silver platter. Otherwise we get shut down at this rate.
I absolutely refuse to test my kids. My nose bled for three days after I got tested. Leave our kids alone! Enough with the threats and trying to force us into compliance. And anyway how is it smart to force everyone into the risky doctors office in order to let them come to school? they are most likely to catch covid over there from all places! Please explain how a test now during chol hamoed can be helpful for children coming back to school after simchas torah. In the meantime they will be with many more people and dancing on simchas torah.
So the message in fine print is to get tested only if you don’t need to get tested. So that the percentage of positives should be lower? This all smells of politics to me. We should not feed into this political machine as there is no end to it.
Basicly some individuals can have positive test results and not show any symptoms, by identifying them early we can limit the spread. If your already sick and have symptoms then you don’t need to expose others while getting tested.

Look at the graph at thos government website, require school closures for as little as 2 students with positive cases. 2 schools in flatbush were closed since 2 students got a positive test. Pcr tests are nit very accurate and can result many false positives as well.

Its a total trap. The test has no validity. Its being used for contact tracing so that they can later declare that you came in contact with someone somewhere who tested positive and they have to place you in a quarantine center for the family’s protection.

So many false positives reported in other communities where they did this. Mass testing did NOT help schools stay open. They don’t count the negatives! They only count the positives. Please no one test your child,its a trap
If you know you, your spouse or children won’t be able to radically quarantine for 14 days then don’t test! It will only make your life harder, close our schools and shuls. Be smart, if you don’t feel well and feel the need to take a test just to know, stay put at home until you’re well enough and wear a mask when you leave your house.

There are asymptomatic carriers.
Meaning there are those showing no symptoms who have the virus regardless and they can infect others near and dear to them unknowingly.
I do agree testing should rather be done after simchas torrow for all those infected simchas torah.
If teachers and students are tested then those carrying the virus wont be in school to infect others and wont get the school shut down and others infected
The zip codes getting their schools shut down are because over 3% of THOSE TESTED were positive. If 100 people who don’t feel well go to get tested and 3 are positive, that’s 3%. If 1000 people go and get tested and even if 20 are positive that’s only 2%. New York’s strategy has been to test as many people as possible, and that’s part of why the positivity rate has stayed so low. The best tool we have at controlling the infection is testing.
In addition there are 2 benefits we get from testing. 1we find most cases and stop it from spreading. 2. Is it is the case that we don’t have a lot of cases then the positivity rate goes down. Which will make it better for the schools
If everyone gets tested and everyone has been doing proper distancing and masking, most people should be negative, and that will bring the positivity rates down!
They won’t be taking percentages. They will only count positives. Boro Park schools are shut down because of a spike in positives. Not because of a percentage increase. Please do not get tested or test your children. They will shut down the schools anyway. This is a way to get our leaders to do their bidding. This is about control and is not about “public health”.

Rapid tests don’t get counted for anything, they’re just there to give you a head start on quarantine if positive.

Before you post your comments, try to find out what the people are doing. The people arranging this are doing it for us, to keep out schools open, and our children in school. This is a political game. Numbers up – let’s close everything down. By us testing and bringing up the numbers that are positive, they have nothing to go on.
