The Crown Heights Jewish Community Coalition, a political action committee in Brooklyn, has announced its endorsement for the New York congressional primaries election on Tuesday, June 26.
They called on local residents of Brooklyn’s Ninth Congressional District to vote for the incumbent, Yvette D. Clarke.
The district includes the neighborhoods of Brownsville, Crown Heights, East Flatbush, Flatbush, Kensington, Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Midwood, Sheepshead Bay, Marine Park, Gerritsen Beach and Prospect Lefferts Gardens.
The PAC cited Clarke’s co-sponsoring the United States-Israel Security Assistance Authorization Act of 2018 to provide foreign military assistance to Israel and has consistently voted in favor of foreign military assistance to Israel during her 12 years in office.
Clarke co-sponsored a bill urging the European Union to designate Hezbollah as a terrorist organization and voted to impose sanctions on Iran to prevent it from acquiring ballistic missiles technology.
They have credited her with petitioning both President Barack Obama and President Donald Trump to release Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin early from prison.
Members of the PAC are Zaki Tamir, Chairman of the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council; Rabbi Shea Hecht, chairman of the NCFJE organization; Chanina Sperlin, Vice President of Governmental Affairs at Crown Heights Jewish Community Council; Devorah Halberstam, Director of External Affairs of the Jewish Children’s Museum in Crown Heights; Mica Soffer, Publisher of COLlive Media Group Inc.
These endorsements are based on the elected officials or those running for office based on their activities and interactions with the Jewish community in Crown Heights. Members of the PAC made the endorsements on a personal account and not in an official capacity of their jobs.
Important Note: The usual polling place at the St. Marks School corner President St. and Brooklyn Avenue has been closed. All residents who formerly voted at that location will now be voting at PS 161, Crown St. between New York Ave and Nostrand Ave.

I made the extraordinary effort and voted. I’m not young and didn’t even know for sure where to go. I was not inclined to exert myself initially with this, but I did.
Where do you vote? And do you have to be preregistered?
CH needs more section 8!!!
Your point is well taken.
But the congresswoman is very well aware of the difficulties many in the district have.
This has nothing to do with inviting her to Balabatishs homes

Where are the polling places? Why are these announcemts always made the day of the election rather than before so working people can factor this in? Why is there not organized transportation for elderly to vote as in many other communities? Do our Community Leaders seriously understand how important it is for large numbers of our population to turn out to vote since numbers = funding and power ? If so, why have we never had a Voter Drive to register EVERYONE – include bochorim & girls who learn away from home but could vote with absentee ballots in important… Read more »
The least one can do for the community.
please note she has been brought to beautiful homes of AZKONIM , who try to do so much for the community.does she have any idea that that the majority of crown height families do NOT live so wonderfully finacially and that their living quaters are not exactly as glamourous as the ones in these pictures,
all the outsiders and non Jews are convinced that the JEws in Crown heights live so beautifully !!!!1
this ‘reminder’ could be a couple of days in advance of the event
also, some instructions about where and how to vote for the irregulars
I’m not voting for leftist, whether the bad or worse kind, it’s noteworthy that the only two accomplishments were signing off on things that didn’t accomplish anything
But I will vote conservative down the ballot when it comes to it, to increase the voter turn out statistics
It would helpful if their was a address of the location of the panels considering it is very important for people to turn out to vote??!!
Please post!
COLLIVE, thank you very much for this reminder.
