Election Day for the 45th President is here at last. Millions of Americans head to the polls Tuesday to decide between Hillary Clinton and Donald J. Trump.
Some 90 million voters were expected to cast ballots and long lines were reported at polling places in New York and other major cities up and down the East Coast — and in the hotly contested battleground states of Ohio, Florida and North Carolina — as voting got underway.
Numerous people across the tri-state area say they experienced voting nightmares on Election Day, and were faced with wait times up to three hours, misplaced ballots, broken machines and being asked to fill out an affidavit ballot, reported WPIX.
In Crown Heights, people began lining up outside P.S. 1, at 532 Albany Ave. by 5:30 a.m., according to voter Bevy Cruz, WPIX reported.
Within the hour, that line had not moved, and police confirmed “that all the books and ballots have been misplaced,” according to Hannah Sheehan, Twitter user @hsheehannyc.
This morning, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton voted for themselves, Mr. Trump shaking hands with other voters at PS 59 in Manhattan and offering high-fives to some children who came along with their parents. Parents held their children in the air to get a glimpse as Mrs. Clinton voted for herself in Chappaqua, N.Y.

The Crown Heights Jewish Community Council, while they do not endorse any candidates, encouraged the community to get out and vote.
“It is very important that everyone in the community should vote. Every one who goes out to vote makes our community voice much stronger,” Eli Cohen, Director of the CHJCC said.
Only registered voters are allowed to vote. You can check if you are registered at this site: https://voterlookup.elections.state.ny.us/.
Once you confirm that you are registered, you can check the correct polling place for your address here: https://nyc.pollsitelocator.com/search
Note your Electoral District and Assembly District (for example 077/43) That will tell you which table to go to inside your polling location.
If you moved locally and did not update your address, you should make sure you enter the zip of the place where you were living at the time when you registered.
