A terror attack occurred on Rechov Dizengoff next to a coffee shop in Tel Aviv on Thursday evening at about 8:40 p.m.
Three men in their 20s were injured, one critically, one seriously, and one lightly, and were evacuated to Ichilov Hospital in the city. The lightly injured victim is being treated for shrapnel injuries and the other two victims were transferred to the operating room for emergency surgery.
The terrorist was neutralized by a Border Police officer who was on leave and happened to pass by the scene of the incident as well as a civilian police volunteer who had come to the area to pick up his daughter. His daughter told Walla News that her father and the police officer each shot three bullets at the terrorist and neutralized him.
United Hatzalah volunteers treated a number of people for gunshot wounds and a number of people suffering emotional shock at the scene of the incident that took place moments ago on Dizengoff Street at the corner of Ben Gurion Boulevard in Tel Aviv.
United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Jamal Varaki, who was one of the first responders at the scene on Dizengoff Street recounted: “Together with other first responders and ambulance teams from United Hatzalah I treated three people who were transported from the scene of the incident to Ichilov Hospital, one in critical condition having suffered gunshot wounds, one in moderate condition from shrapnel wounds, and a third individual also lightly injured by shrapnel. Members of the organization’s Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit treated numerous people for emotional shock and psychological stress by providing psychological first aid. Among these were three people who were transported by a United Hatzalah ambulance to Ichilov Hospital.”
Israeli security forces have launched a manhunt after a second terrorist who apparently fled the scene.
