Thousands gathered at 770 Eastern Parkway on Sunday, Gimmel Tammuz for the historic event marking the conclusion of the 40th cycle of the Rambam.
Committee Chairman, Rabbi Shmuel Butman, served as MC for the event and shared words of inspiration.
Guest of honor, the Rishon Letzion and Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar, shared words in honor of the 40th Siyum and related to the holy day of Gimmel Tammuz.
The Chief Rabbi of Eretz Yisroel, Rabbi Dovid Lau, sent his blessings.
The rabbonim of the Crown Heights Beis Din, Rabbi Avraham Osdoba and Rabbi Yosef Yeshaya Braun shared words of Torah and blessing.
Other speakers included Rabbi Berel Lazar, shliach and chief rabbi of Russia, and Rabbi Yosef Hecht, shliach and chief rabbi of Eilat.
The Rebbe’s niggunim were sung throughout the evening by chassidic singer Avraham Fried together with Yossi Cohen’s Kapelle choir and the entire crowd, with musical accompaniment by Chony Milecki.
There was a special performance by the Tzivos Hashem boys of Cheder Ohr Menachem.
A unique video presentation on the takana of Limud HaRambam, produced specially for this event, was shown during the Siyum.
Representatives of the major chassidic courts will participate in the celebration and share words of blessing from their Rebbes.
Special mementos were distributed to the participants, along with a spectacular study schedule for the new cycle. Participants received a preview edition from the new sefer Otzar HaMelech, which collects the Rebbe’s explanations on Rambam, printed specially for the Siyum, a tadfis from the Pardes Hemelech Rambam by Rabbi Meir Elituv, and the Chayenu for this week.
Among the sponsors thanked were Bais Shmuel Chabad and the Meromim Foundation.
The organizers thanked the NYPD for their cooperation.

was a very nice event. I was especially impressed with Chief Sephardic Rabbi, they he came to the event itself. and seemed very appropriate to have Sephardic Rabbi, not just because RamBam was from Spain, but also roots of chassidic movement, if I understand right, the original “misnagdim” were misnaged to the Spanish influence / influx into the Ashkenazic areas, the nistarim before the Baal Shem Tov, the Baal Shem’s, seem to have come from those fleeing Spain in 1490’s, so the beginnings and now where we are, have the Sephardic influence
