The Crown Heights Online Yeshiva, a monumental project sponsored by United Lubavitcher Yeshiva, went live online this week at an incredibly fast pace.
Sunday morning, the site rolled out with an abundance of resources available online to enable students to learn on their own, and as early as Monday morning, the first live Global Class streamed on the website for all boys and girls around the world.
The Global Classes have been created as a concerted effort by all Crown Heights schools’ dedicated principals, Rebbis and Morahs, who have united and collaborated to prepare and present rich content to keep the students engaged in Limmud Hatorah while schools around the world face closures due to the spread of coronavirus.
Spearheading this project was Moishy Goldstein of Lubavitcher Yeshiva along with web developer Levi Sudak of cursorblue.com, both of whom invested countless hours and sleepless nights to get the website chyeshiva.com up and running on time for the first day that school closures left thousands of students having to learn at home.
The Global Classes for the boys and the girls are streamed live from two classrooms in Lubavitcher Yeshiva where Rabbi Yossi Teleshevsky of Lubavitcher Yeshiva, along with the talented team of 321Motion, set up two filming studios in the now-empty classrooms.
Rebbis and Morahs from all the Crown Heights Yeshivos stepped up to volunteer their days and nights to make the Global Classes a reality, all coordinated by Rabbi Shua Lustig of Oholei Torah and Rabbi Mendy Vail of Darchai Menachem, along with the devoted principals of all the Crown Heights Yeshivos.
A huge thank you is due to Rabbi Zalman Shneur of Menachem Education Foundation for helping to bring all the Crown Heights school together.
A special thank you is due to United Lubavitcher Yeshiva of Crown Heights for absorbing the cost of the vital project.
“Children’s Torah learning must never stop, said Lubavitcher Yeshiva Menahel Rabbi Yosef Simpson. “There is nothing that can come in the way of Limmud Hatorah.”
Please be a partner in making this project happen by helping cover further development of the platform, which is very costly to create. If you are enjoying the new website, please donate at chyeshiva.com.
CHYeshiva.com is available to all schools or teachers who need it, free of charge.
