In a modest ceremony, a stunning new mikvah was inaugurated last week at the Mesivta of Moscow, a yeshiva high school for boys located near the Maryina Roshcha District.
Several of the many students that study in the Mesivta were on-hand to cheer Russia’s Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar and the Mikvah’s lead donor Constantine Simkin.
The need for a mikvah came as the number of students in the yeshiva has risen since being founded some 15 years ago. Some of its graduates already serve as teachers and even rabbis in Russia today.
A strong leadership at the helm of the Mesivta –led by Rabbi Chaim Ozer Amirgov and Moscow’s director of Jewish educational institutions Rabbi Yossi Lipsker— helps teenage boys to grew in their knowledge and observance.
The Mesivta building includes a learning hall ‘zal’, a dormitory, a library and a large dining room. Graduates often continue their learning at the Yeshiva Gedola Tomchei Tmimim in Moscow.
After a tour in the new mikvah facility, Rabbi Lazar and Mr. Simkin were honored with cutting the ribbon and addressing the students present about the importance of ritual purification.
Go Boruch Belov! You’re the guy.
Now, that is ONE KIND of a mikveh!!!!
