As chassidim mark Gimmel Tammuz—31 years—each of us will focus on strengthening our hiskashrus, asking ourselves what we can do to further the Rebbe’s vision.
We will fulfill the minhagim of the day, as the Rebbe instructed after the passing of the Frierdiker Rebbe, including “Tzedakah should be given to causes associated with our Nasi.”
Machne Israel established Keren Mamosh in the days following Gimmel Tammuz 5754 to strengthen Chabad-Lubavitch institutions and carry forward the Rebbe’s mission. For more than three decades, it has supported initiatives that bring that vision to life.
One powerful tool lies in the Rebbe’s vision of the Mitzvah Tank—a vehicle that drives straight into spiritual darkness, transforming it with the light of Torah and mitzvos.
Like military tanks deployed to confront danger, Mitzvah Tanks are mobilized to bring hope, strength, and connection to Jews wherever they are. These mobile centers of Yiddishkeit reach people in the midst of their daily lives—with inspiration, encouragement, tefillin, mezuzos, Shabbos candle kits, tzitzis, and other tools that spark Jewish pride and practice.
Every mitzvah performed anywhere in the world brings blessing and protection to the Land of Israel and to Jews everywhere. And so, as our brothers and sisters face threats in Israel and abroad, we respond with mitzvos at home.
To that end, Machne Israel’s Keren Mamosh has launched a new grant program for Shluchim creating and outfitting new Mitzvah Tanks. Three finalists will receive an $18,000 grant towards the purchase and outfitting of a Mitzvah Tank.
