Mothers of Crown Heights began as a website of resources providing a host of helpful information, ranging from lists of local providers and gemachs, to helpful documents like Chabad customs for pregnancy and birth, and a hospital packing list.
Bringing a baby home from the hospital is a joyful time but could easily become overwhelming if a mother doesn’t get the proper help. Understanding which organizations offer what is clearly outlined on the Kimpatorin page of the website, eliminating the need to do any research. Working together with Shifra Puah, MothersofCrownHeights.org is the place where women can request extra hands for up to eight weeks postpartum. Volunteers range from high school and seminary students to ‘Borrow a Bubby.’
You may have noticed that over 1,500 women are using the same cozy, cotton ball colored baby blanket. That’s because they all received a hand delivered gift from Mothers of Crown Heights. Co-sponsored by Keren Hachomesh, the baby gift is a community project that gives every new mother the warmth of knowing that they are part of a community that cherishes them.
Infertility and pregnancy loss can be part of a woman’s journey towards motherhood and the website has dedicated pages of available resources.
www.MothersofCrownHeights.org has become a virtual destination for young women.

Seven months ago, the sense of community was taken to the next level when Mothers of Crown Heights opened Miriam’s Motherhood Center.
The 2,200 square foot space was designed with the mother and baby in mind. With a playroom, lounge, studio, and shared office (in conjunction with CHYE), the center is busy all hours of the day and night. The classes range from pre and postnatal support to parenting workshops, mommy and me programs, shiurim & farbrengens to business networking events.
Membership and the cost of classes are kept very low and there is a scholarship fund so no woman is unable to come because of financial considerations. On Tu B’shvat, January 16-17, Mother of Crown Heights will be holding a fundraiser to cover 75% of their annual budget.

Every donation goes a long way.
Mothers of Crown Heights was created by Mushka and Chaim Leiter in 2017 in loving memory of Mrs. Miriam Tzimmel Friedman, ob’m.
This is a cause worth supporting. The playroom is adorable and fun. My toddler loves going (and I do, too!)
Please show your support for all the women and children and families who benefit from MOCH.
This organization is amazing. I know first hand multiple women who have benefited tremendously from it.
Keep it up!
When my wife gave birth, without even a phonecall or an inquiry, a gift was dropped off. Made my wife feel so special cos shes not from here and she felt so loved and cared for by strangers…
Chaiml and Mushka thank for for adding this unimaginable asset to our community
I love the Borrow a Bubby initiative. Some Bubbies grandkids are living on shlichus in far flung places. These Bubbies have time and so much experience to give a new Mom – especially one that didn’t grow up with extended family to learn from or help out, as well as those young Moms whose parents are on shlichus far away.
Kol hakavod to the founders. A true gift to the community.
Worth supporting!!
Hatzlacha Rabba. I hope you meet your financial goal.
