Combined newswires
For the second time in 24 hours, an infant in Israel died after being left in a car for several hours by a negligent parent, Jerusalem Post reports.
In the latest tragedy, a 2 year old girl was left for several hours in a car in the settlement of Dolev while her father was in a business meeting, unaware that she was dying in the family car outside, the Post said.
The father only realized the mistake when his wife called him around 1pm to tell him that she was at the daycare to pick up their other child, and noticed that one child never arrived in the morning, but it was too late.
Only a day earlier, a 5-month-old baby’s life was cut short when she was left inside a car in Shilo for 7 hours. That baby was also left in a car by the father, according to police.
In the most recent incident before this week, a 9-month-old died in Ramat Gan when the baby’s mother left it in the family jeep for 8 hours.
With heat advisories issued for the New York tristate area, parents are urged to be extra careful. Forecasters say the heat and humidity will combine to make it feel like the temperature is in the triple digits.
Elder adults are especially vulnerable as they stand a greater risk of heat stroke or heat exhaustion because their bodies do not easily adjust to changes in temperature, making it critically important for people to check on older family, friends, or neighbors, especially those without air conditioning in their homes.
That wouldn’t be wise to blame Hashem for anything.
Dont blame Hashem if you were negligent. WE are CHayyav and responsible if we are careless with the precious kids Hashem has given us. The REbbe told a father who lost his temper YOur kids are not yours to neglect or abuse but to cherish and protect as a guardian for Hashem. You can blame Hashem for things outside your control only.
It isnt normal for a parent tö forget their child in a car it is obviosly from Hashem. Also dont judge
how people leave kids in the car in first lace, hot or cold or whatever!!! lo alenu!
From the Huffington Post: BE SAFE stands for the following steps to insure that you drive safely and that it won’t happen to you: Back seat: Put something in the back seat whenever you strap a child in, so you have to open the back door, or at least turn around to find that item, when you get out of the car. Your handbag or briefcase, cellphone or employee badge. Every child should be correctly restrained in the back seat. Stuffed animal: Keep a brightly colored one in the car seat when your child isn’t there. Then move it from… Read more »
They really give practical ideas of how to make sure YOU never forget your child in the car. Because, r”l it can happen to anyone.
What kind of parent leaves their kid in a car? What kind of parent sees a news report like this and has the gall to judge?! Are you all really so arrogant that you don’t think it can happen to you?! IT CAN! Please, please, please, for your childrens’ sake, do not be so foolish and naive as to think you’re too good of a parent for this to happen to you. It’s not about being a good parent; it’s about being an imperfect human that makes mistakes. Assume you will make a mistake. Put safety measures in place that… Read more »
a child of a Rebbe who was forever trying to keep up with his father who was constantly forgetting him. true.
hashem obviously has a reason for making the father forget his child.i hope the father isn’t eating himself up.
It can happen to mothers too but fathers are especially vulnerable. My husband is a great father and did the same. Thank G-d I caught it in time… if you are asking your husband to take your child somewhere, please call him on the cel… to make sure he didn’t forget.
I dont agree how could any one forget that they have a child in a car, well these people will have to live with this tragedy
you could even adapt a bungee cord for the same job.

No one is immune. Just takes one out of the ordinary busy day.
Lo Oleinu! CVS!
These parents will never get over their mistake. They will suffer for it for the rest of their lives. It can happen unfortunately to anyone. Sometimes a parent can forget that they have left a child in the car. No one is immune to this error.
Some people wait years to have a kid, and others forget their kids in the car.
Just like some people lose a very precious pregnancy that they waited for, and others decide that they want to abort because it’s not convenient.
Crazy, crazy, world.
Extremely helpful and applicable to every parent. Besuros tovos, vyehopchu yomim eilu lsoson ul’simcha

In all three of these incidents the parents did not intentionally leave the child in the car while running errands. When there is a change in the norm there are oversights. Unfortunately yes there are terrible repercussions but that does not make the parent a bad person. Did you ever not realize your kid is in the car because your spouse had an unavoidable appointment and you went to take the kid to nursery but got a call that distracted you and on automatic you drove to work not glancing back because the kid is never in your car in… Read more »
Everyone should read the link by number 5. So true
THE SAME THING THAT IS WRONG WITH THE PARENTS RIGHT HERE IN CROWN HEIGHTS. THEY ARE JUST AS NEGLIGENT. I SEE THEM WALKING IN THE STREETS WITH THEIR LITTLE TODLERS FOLLOWING 20 FEET BEHIND WITHOUT EVEN A SINGLE GLANCE FROM THE PARENT TO SEE IF THE KID IS STILL THERE OR MAY HAVE DECIDED TO CROSS THE STREET ITSELF ETC..,..,..
will never forgive themselves and will never lead a normal life, no need to charge on a UNINTENTIONAL MISTAKE. their guilt is more then they can bear
it seems like people in israel are not aware of the danger or are lacking common sense, but the govt should do something and publicize it and fine anyone that leaves a child unattended in a car.
we need moshiach now!
HASHEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its enough!
With all the technology available can’t there be a device installed that would detect the temperature and cries of a child and after a few minutes automatically call 911 with the GPS location of the car ???????
The father literally murdered his daughter b`meizeed… or even bèeshgaga… I hope he doesn`t get jailed… the pain is too much already as it is for this family.
are fathers so irresponsible, how do they get our of a car, leaving such a precious possession behind, are they sooo busy?
Burying your head in the sand won’t save future babies. Reading these articles and making parents terrified and more aware, just may.
