Rabbi Levi Wilimovsky, Director of Lubavitch educational institutions in Migdal Ha’emek and a seasoned Chassid, entered this morning (Wednesday) the COL bureau in Israel with a wide smile.
“The Rebbe’s dollars have been returned,” he break the news to the Kfar-Chabad-based staff.
The dollars have been stolled from him home in the Kfar Chabad village this past Thursday when he was celebrating his son Shneor Zalman’s Bar Mitzva in the events tent nearby.
“They turned over my home, but only took the Rebbe’s dollars,” he told COL at the time and publicly requested the thief to return the priceless plunder.
This morning, a week after the robbery, the thief contacted Wilimovski and asked to return them through a third party. “He understood that you better not mess with the Rebbe’s dollars,” Wilimovsky explained.
With his hands full with the envelope of dollars he received from Rebbe over the years, Wilimovsky thanked the COL staff for writing about the incident.
“After you publicised it on your website, people called me from around the world and offered condolences,” he said. “I have no doubt the publicity got the thief to return the dollars.”
