We live in strange and uncertain times, and with so many people out of work, now is as good a time as any to explore new avenues and career paths. Crown Heights Young Entrepreneurs (CHYE) is providing help and direction to individuals contemplating their next step by spreading awareness of various certification programs.
Professional certifications or non-degree certificate programs are becoming an increasingly popular option for people seeking to advance in their careers. Training and certifications are offered by a wide variety of institutions, including nonprofits, startups, industry regulatory bodies, and traditional higher education institutions.
A certification program in a growing field can train you in a marketable skill that will make you a qualified candidate for a well-paying job in only a matter of months.
A certification program is more than just an online course. While many are familiar with programs like Online Smicha, real estate licensing, and computer coding boot camps, there are non-degree certificate programs available in practically any field under the sun, including bookkeeping, IT, graphic design, digital marketing, project management, midwifery, interior design, fitness instruction, and much, much more.
You don’t need to get a certificate from a famous institution to become an attractive hire. Any certification program, so long as it’s accredited, industry compliant, and reputable, will train you in a marketable skill that will position you to get a well-paying job in only a matter of months.
Some training programs even go the extra step of introducing you to potential employers and arranging job interviews upon completion of the program. There are even many programs offered in different fields that are sensitive to the needs of frum Jews, not having classes on Shabbat and holidays and having separate classes for men and women.
Many of these programs are offered online, especially now during the COVID-19 pandemic so you can complete them from the comfort of your own home. There are many programs which offer classes at night or host live online classes over Zoom or a similar platform. Other programs are completely or partially asynchronous, which means students have the flexibility of completing assignments and modules on their own time.
“There are so many opportunities in today’s world,” explained Rabbi Yehoshua Werde, founder of CHYE. “We are spreading awareness in the community about career certification programs as part of our mission to assist the community in all matters of parnasa, letting people know their options and providing them the resources they need in order to pursue their intended careers.
“We want people to know that there is another alternative besides just getting a job or going to college. If you want to learn a skill that will help you start a new career or advance in your current career, a certification can be a great place to start.” CHYE has complied a list of some of today’s most in-demand certifications https://www.chye.info/cdjs/hot-certifications as a resource for you to explore.
CHYE is also offering the community private, one-on-one consultations with job counselors, Natasha Srulowitz and Adele Dubin. They take the time to get to know each person they meet with and understand each person’s unique needs, strengths, and preferences in order to guide them to the appropriate individuals or training programs that will help them grow in their careers.
“We’re excited for this opportunity to help guide the CHYE community toward careers that will contribute toward their overall happiness and fulfillment,” said Natasha Srulowitz.
Echoing that same sentiment, Adele Dubin said: “We’re excited to get to know the CHYE community. The people we’re meeting with seem to be enjoying the process of learning more about themselves and we are excited to continue guiding each individual toward the career path that is best for them.”
If you’re entering the workforce or thinking about changing careers, CHYE is here to help.
