Why do we pray facing the Land of Israel? What is the advantage of praying in a holy place? Are there places other than Israel that also afford us this advantage? Where on earth is heaven considered a “local call”?
Rabbi Shais Taub asked these questions at a recent class at Beth Rivkah Seminary in which an excerpt from a groundbreaking sicha of the Rebbe was studied. The sicha from 10 Shvat 5714 explains the unique advantage of prayer at the resting place of the righteous and how it can be even more powerful than davening anywhere else on earth, even Eretz Yisrael.
To aid the study of the sicha, Rabbi Chaim Shaul Brook of Lahak Hanachos prepared a special study guide of the text with nekudos. To see the booklet and download PDF watch the class on SoulWords. https://www.soulwords.org/video/local-call-the-power-of-prayer-at-the-ohel/
