The girls trickled in one by one, and eventually, over 50 young singles filled the room of the Shidduch House last Motzei Shabbos to experience the inspiration and practical tips from Mrs. Toby Lieder and Sheli Atara Man. Delicious sushi and pizza was enjoyed by everyone.
A ‘Live Interview’ was presented by Toby Lieder to showcase the benefit of a Matchmaker personally getting to know a single, while defining one’s “5 Dealbreakers!”.
Sheli presented an uplifting Dvar Torah, inspiring & instilling Emunas Hashem.
Some tips shared:
-Hashem can do anything in a split second! (Like splitting the Red Sea) It’s all in the Timing! Hang in there Hashem has His plan for you!
Do one thing a day towards your shidduch.
“If you keep doing what you did, you’ll keep getting what you got.” Change up something, anything.
Consider Zoom dating – It works well with out-of-town situations.
How to detect ‘Red Flags’ (lookout for eye contact, secretive past, healthy relationships, on time)
When researching, ask open-ended questions and look out for their ‘first reaction’. Ask for anyone not on the reference list.
Always consider a second date. So many situations singles are married today because they allowed that second date.
Each person wrote a name on a post-it note of someone they would like to be prayed for a shidduch. After placing all the names into a small box, everybody randomly selected any name to take home and pray for at candle lighting time. As it says, “ When you pray for someone else, Hashem answers your prayers first.”

Beautiful and very helpful advice!
I don’t think marriage comes from following a list of general ideas… people are different and aren’t robots I don’t think it’s a one size fits all story. I think our Hishtadlus may vary depending on different things. I think that everything happens wherever, whenever and for whoever Hashem wants…which is the ultimate best for us. May Hashem grant us our truest and fullest potential of shining our light to the world!
