The Chevra Simchas Shabbos V’yom Tov (CSSY) organization was initiated by the Rebbe and has been serving the Jewish community of Crown Heights for over 40 years.
Throughout the year, CSSY lovingly assists impoverished Crown Heights Jews on a daily basis, custom-tailoring the help to the needs of each family or individual.
In honor of Rosh Hashana 5783, year of the Hakhel, the organization shared the envelope and the donation that the Rebbe sent in the past to its beloved founders, R’ Shimshon and Martha Stock OBM.
Their son, Rabbi Benji Stock said the handwritten note by the Rebbe was in response to the report of CSSY’s activities leading up to Rosh Hashana and Tishrei.
Along with the donation, the Rebbe wrote: “My contribution is included. [Your report] has been received and appreciated in a timely manner during the days of Selichos (and when the king is in the field etc.) in the year of Hakhel. I will mention this at the Tziyon [of the Frierdiker Rebbe].”
