In honor of Purim Katan, Rabbi Manis Friedman will be hosting an international tele conference on teaching the message of Purim to children.
Amid the many halachos to learn, sueda arrangements to make, and the numerous practical observances of the day, it is all too easy to forget about the lessons of the actual Purim story itself.
But to lose our focus on the message is to miss out on the whole story of Purim!
Megillas Esther is often poorly understood, and with its mention of violence, drinking, and beauty pageants, educators sometimes struggle to find the right way to teach children about it.
As part of his in-reach initiative focused on providing classes to anash, Rabbi Manis Friedman will explain the proper way to teach children about the “day of feasting and rejoicing.”
So, how do we give over the story of Purim to our children and talmidim properly? More than just an action-packed, drama-filled story, Purim possesses inner meanings that needs to be internalized by Yidden of all ages.
Among the topics discussed in tonight’s call:
* How do we address the violent scenes in the Purim story?
* Should children dress up in violent costumes on Purim?
* What is the correct ‘take-home message’ of Purim for young ones?
The free teleconference is scheduled for Wednesday, February 24 at 8:30 pm.
Rabbi Manis Friedman and the staff at ItsGoodtoKnow.org would like to thank our sponsors machonstam.com, jwines.com, and hamafitz.com for making this event free of charge for all or our listeners. Join the call for special deals only for those that join. This call will be recorded, and access to the recording will be sent to all registrants after the call.
Thank you Rabbi Manis Freedman, for expanding
Our knowledge in yiddishkeit, bringing us all up
To a higher level, and spreading the light of
Torah!!!
Listen to the conference and you’ll have the answer to your question
What’s wrong with teaching it the same way my teacher managed to teach it to me, which is the way his teacher taught it to to him, and his teacher Etc. Etc.
Thank you so much for letting us know about this. It’s such a blessing to have a classic Mashpia like in the olden days who will guide us in approaching Torah and Mitzvos in a truly chassidishe way.
His marriage stuff is nice. The various issues he talks about are what they are. But you see the true spiritual genius that is reb manis when he gives us his unique approach of chassidishkeit and eidelkeit in matters we take for granted.
