The one behind the annual act of chesed, supplying thousands with food and drink at the end a fast or while davening in 770 during Tishrei, is being revealed.
The volunteer coordinator of the project, Nachum Markowitz told COLlive.com the credit for the Yom Kippur end-the-fast hand-out is Rabbi Don Yoel Levy, head of the OK Kosher Certification and a well-known donor.
“He donates the food every year in honor of his wife Shaindel Malka‘s birthday and the wedding anniversary of his daughter Rikal and son-in-law Rabbi Chaim Fogelman,” Markowitz told us.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for this great Mitzvah and being a constant help to the community,” he added.
Markowitz’s next food distribution for the many who daven at 770 will be Simchas Torah, although he said that the full amount of money to subsidize it has not been raised yet.
Wow thats beautiful! Dont the jjacobson brothers also give for the simchas torah trucks of food?
A quiet unassuming family that helped so many people with their kindness. We love them! Kudos to Nachum Markowitz for undertaking this task
