In connection with the Yom Tov of Pesach, it is our honor to release another section (translated from Hebrew) of the forthcoming book V’avdi Dovid, which tells the extraordinary life story of our grandfather, the legendary chossid, Rabbi Dovid Raskin OBM.
This section tells the story, through the lens of R’ Dovid’s archive and first-hand accounts, of the fascinating Pesach miracle of his daughter – our dear mother, Mrs. Chaya Mushka Pearson, OBM.
It describes her near fatal motor accident in Adar II of 5733 (1973), R’ Dovid’s resilient spirit and pure faith throughout the entire ordeal, and the Rebbe’s unwavering attention and dedication to her recovery.
We would like to thank the individuals who gave interviews and shared their resources for this project: Rabbi Leibel Groner OBM, Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky, Dr. Robert Richter, and Rabbi Shlomo Zarchi. Her classmates: Mrs. Feige Duchman, Mrs. Chavi Einbinder, Mrs. Sheine Friedman, and Mrs. Chani Perelmuter.

As the world experiences unprecedented challenging times, may this publication bring hope, healing, and comfort as we pray for a world of healing and to witness the fulfillment of the possuk (Yeshayahu 25:8): “Death shall be swallowed up forever, and Hashem shall wipe the tears from every face”, with the coming of Moshiach Tzidkainu, may it be speedily in our days.

May her neshomo have an Aliyah and may she look down with nachas at her beautiful children and grandchildren kah.
What an amazing story. I knew one of the raskin girls was in a bad car accident but never knew this story. The rebbe became a father to her
Thank you Benjy for always publishing such nice stuff all the time.
Wow Thankx for sharing
Beautiful.
I knew Chaya Mushka at Bais Chana and had no idea of any of this. Looking back, it makes sense she was so full of chayas, so emesdik and so dedicated to the Rebbe in everything she did.
I am saddened to hear of her early passing but Baruch Hashem she lived a full life with children and grandchildren.
Reb dovid suffered a lot in his life.a lot is an understatement for those that know…
When we have challenges
Think of reb dovid
Trust me most of our challenges
Are trivial compared to what reb dovid went thru in life.
