These days of the month of Tishrei, are special days for Yidden worldwide. Days that combine emotion, joy and inspiration.
As a resident of Crown Heights, we are sure that these days have another meaning for you. The meaning of Hachnosas Orchim.
You have the Zechus to live in the Rebbe’s Shechuna – Crown Heights, and during this month thousands of guests come from the whole world – Bochurim, families and girls.
The concern for the many guests is being taken care of by Eshel Hachnosas Orchim, which for over 25 years under the management of Rav Menachem Mendel Hakohen Hendel, has been taking care for the Rebbe’s guests Begashmius and Beruchnius.
Arranging places to sleep, hot meals, Sedorim, supervision Begashmius and Beruchnius, first aid and medical treatment if necessary and care for all the needs of the guests.
During the Farbrengen of 18 Elul 5740 the Rebbe said: “There is a clear ruling in Shulchon Oruch that Hachnosas Orchim is an obligation of the residents of the place,” and later on during the Farbrengen in connection with Eshel which was then ran by Rav Yeruslavsky the Rebbe said “but the residents of the place cannot fulfill their obligation with his activities, rather they themselves have to deal with it generously with their money, body and soul.”
As a Chossid and a resident of the Shechuna, we are sure that you want to fulfill the Rebbe’s Hora’ah, and deal with the Hachnosas Orchim generously with your body, money and soul.
During these days, we in Eshel Hachnosas Orchim are launching a fundraising campaign for the Hachnosas Orchim.
And specifically this year, with all the difficulties which came up in connection with the Covid virus and the damage caused by the weather.
