UPDATE PESSAH 2023
Dear Friends,
This is Rabbi Avraham Wolff from Odessa.
It is with great emotion that I thank you for all the support you have given us so far. Thanks to you, we’ve been able to survive the difficult war conditions and continue to hope for the best, praying for this nightmare to end.
Thanks to you, I have the strength to continue to stay here despite the difficulty and to continue helping the sick and elderly who cannot leave, in addition to supporting the members of our community who are in refugee camps in neighboring countries.
It is important for me to tell you that due to the very high cost of keeping hundreds of our orphans in the temporary place where they have been so far in Germany and after a certain lull in the fighting in our area in Odessa, we have decided without any choice to return them to our orphanage here in Odessa.
The situation is still sensitive and we are still under fire throughout the day we hear alarms and run to hide in protected places as much as possible…
It’s hard for me to describe in words the hardships and suffering we go through every day. The alarms don’t stop, and the fear of going outside is very real. On top of that, we don’t have a regular electricity supply, and we still need generators, heaters and fuel constantly.
In addition to all this, as the Pesach are approaching, we need a larger amount of food products, medicines and essential equipment to take care of the needs of the community. In addition to these, we need matzoh, wine, meat and other basic products.
Wishing you a Kosher and happy Pessah on behalf of myself and our whole community in Odessa.
Thank you!
