Every week, a rumble of hope rolls toward Israel’s borders. But this isn’t a military convoy or a supply truck — it’s the Fun Truck, an all-terrain vehicle towing a gourmet food trailer that has become a beloved sight for thousands of IDF soldiers stationed along the Gaza Envelope and the northern border.
More Than a Meal – A Mission of Love
At least twice a week, the Fun Truck team travels to the most forward and dangerous positions, where soldiers serve under intense conditions.
When the Fun Truck arrives, everything changes — the air fills with music, laughter, and the mouthwatering aroma of premium meats grilled by a professional chef, fresh salads, warm rolls, homemade sauces, and cold drinks.
But what soldiers remember most isn’t just the food — it’s the warmth, the smiles, and the powerful reminder that the Jewish people are with them.
A Mother’s Legacy
The Fun Truck was born from the deep pain — and profound love — of one extraordinary mother.
During Operation Protective Edge, IDF soldier Moshiko Davino fell in battle. Known among his comrades for his kindness and generosity, Moshiko was the one who always brought home-cooked meals to share with his fellow soldiers.
After his passing, his mother Ruchama Davino sought to continue his legacy of giving. She wanted to show soldiers that even in the toughest moments — under fire, far from home — they are not forgotten.
From that vision came the Fun Truck Project — a mobile kitchen of love, support, and gratitude that travels to Israel’s frontlines to lift the spirits of its defenders.
“Moshiko always made sure no soldier went hungry — not only for food, but for love,” says Ruchama. “The Fun Truck keeps his giving spirit alive.”
A Movement of Connection and Hope
Since its creation, the Fun Truck has become a symbol of unity.
Each visit is more than a barbecue — it’s a celebration of life, courage, and Jewish pride.
Volunteers, donors, and communities who join the project describe it as a transformative experience, one that connects hearts across Israel and around the world.
An Invitation to Shluchim and Communities Worldwide
Now, Chabad Houses and Jewish communities across the globe are invited to become partners in this heartwarming mission.
