BS”D Ishmael was not an Arab. The first reference to Arabs seems to be Rashi on Parshat Vayera, line 4, when the 3 angels disguised as Arabs came to visit Abraham on the 3rd day after his brit (Ishmael was 13). He washed their feet because Arabs worshipped the dust on their feet. Thus, Arabs were around well before Ishamal was born. No real genealogy is available for Arabs since the very word Arab means of mixed genealogy. I.e. they didn’t care about their separate lineages. heres what doesnt make sense: The arabs all descend from those who followed Mohamed in 600 AD. We don’t know here they come from. Soooo, theres NO proof that they come from Avraham!
