Menachem Mendel Gurary of Montreal, a student at Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim Lubavtich Montreal, base # 613815 is the first chayol to be promoted to the rank of Captain at this month’s Tzivos Hashem rally.
“In order for Menachem Mendel to achieve this rank, he had to complete every mission for two and a half years. That demands a tremendous amount of commitment,” said Rabbi Shmaryohu Weinbaum, director of Chayolei Tzivos Hashem. “To me this is the Rebbe’s dream coming true. I’m sure it is giving the Rebbe much Nachas.”
He has already completed hundreds of missions, including Chazering Tanya Baal Peh, saying Tehillim on Shabbos Mevorchim, doing Mivtzoim, celebrating Yoma Depagro, and learning with his parents as part of the Avos Ubonim campaign.
“We are very proud of our son Menachem Mendel for reaching such a milestone,” Rabbi and Mrs. Tzvi Hirsh Gurary conveyed to Tzivos Hashem in a candid phone conversation. “As parents we see firsthand the tremendous impact this program has on our children, it give him a real appreciation and chayus for the right things, something we all struggle with during these turbulent times. We have seen him grow in his yiddishkeit and hiskashrus.”
The program sees tremendous success worldwide, with well above fifty schools enrolled, the number of chayolim exceed five thousand.
“With the overwhelmingly positive feedback we receive, and the numbers of newly enrolled schools continuously growing, we see how these children are impacting the world” commented Chanie Mogilevsky, Program Director and School Liaison.
“It is amazing to see the kids bringing back their missions week by week and slowly climbing the ranks of Tzivos Hashem,” says Rabbi Shmuel Vaisfiche, Base Commander at Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim Montreal. “The smiles of satisfaction on their faces every time they reach a new rank are truly heartwarming, knowing that they are accomplishing the Rebbe, our commander’s, goal.”
Many thanks to Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, Rabbi Yerachmiel Benjaminson of Tzivos Hashem and Rabbi Shaya Smetana of anash.com for all they have done to make this program a reality.
Menachem Mendel himself is enjoying the effects and benefits of the program, “Thanks to the Rebbe’s vision in starting Tzivos Hashem, I enjoy doing the right thing. The ranks cards, mileage, and all the other exciting stuff make things like hishkashrus and middos toivos fun and important at the same time,” he says.
Menachem Mendel is not alone in his progression. Thousands of children are climbing in rank each month. It won’t be long until he shares the rank of Captain with many other hard working Chayolim.
