I had the zechus of standing next to The Rov, Yoseph Ber Soloveitchik, z”l, following the Rebbe’s, z”l, farbrengin upon his 30th year of leadership. Two men were holding the Rov as he wasn’t well, but insisted on attending. When asked what he thought of the Rebbe’s words he lit up like I have NEVER seen a human being light up. I would imagine it was a zechus for both Brisker Gedolyim and Chabad Rebbeim.
Sorry, but the following statement says it all about the “barriers that did not exist in Brisk”: “When the last Lubavitcher Rebbe was in Paris, ‘he grabbed him’.”
It was a tremendous zchus for the Brisker Gedoylim that our Holy Chabad Rabbeim maintained a close relationship with them and obviously, this relationship was in order to benefit klal yisroel.
and you will see how the fridiker rebbe, coresponded with reb chaim, and reb chaim ozer, they all signed the kol korah for food for pesach for raussian jewry in the 1930’s.
