A tent has been constructed outside 770 Eastern Parkway to accommodate the locals, while thousands of guests visit Crown Heights.
Whether it’s a Minyan Shacharis, or a Chavrusa Chassidus, the tent is there for a comfortable seat, right at 770.
Now in its second year, the tent has been built before Rosh Hashanah, and stands larger than ever, with many upgrades. Beginning with a full air-conditioning system, in order to cope with the 80 degree weather, as well as Mezonos and coffee available each morning through the generosity of various sponsors.
“Many thanks must be given to Reb Chanina Sperlin and Detective Vincent Martinos of the NYPD,” said Mendel Mintz, one of the organizers. “It was their commitment that made this happen.”
Also instrumental in making this dream a reality are the Eastern Parkway residents and Crown Heights Hatzalah.
The tent is scheduled to stand until Hoshanah Rabba, when the service road will be cleared for the Hakafos space needed for Simchas Torah.
