A terror attack in Tel Aviv injured at nine individuals when a Palestinian assailant intentionally drove his car into a group of people waiting at a bus stop on Tuesday.
Some of the victims sustained severe wounds during the incident, which took place on Pinchas Rosen Street in the city’s northern Ramat Hachayal neighborhood.
Thankfully, none have passed.
Footage captured at the location depicted the attacker exiting his white truck and proceeding to stab customers at a nearby street cafe.
The Israel Police reported that a civilian, armed with a gun, took decisive action and fatally shot the assailant.
Mrs. Chaya Gerlitzky, co-director of Chabad in the Tzahalah neighborhood in Tel Aviv, was in the area during the time of the attack.
When she saw the ramming, she initially thought it was an accident. She rushed to assist a woman who was lying on the street.
Then, upon hearing gunshots, Mrs. Gerlitzky rushed into a nearby store and hid there with the clerk and other people until security forces arrived.
Mrs. Gerlitzky commented how her decision to park the car on a different corner of the street put her a few steps in front of the terrorist, avoiding being rammed seconds later.
Even after security forces arrived, Mrs. Gerlitzky remained in the area talking to people present and offering comfort. She also led the reciting of Tehillim for the healing of those injured.
