The annual convention of the Israel Bar Association, bringing together judges, attorneys, legal experts and elected officials, was held at the Binyanei Hauma Conference Center in Jerusalem recently.
The convention was focused on governance and law and ran for a few days with an array of speakers and sessions. Noticeable was the presence of many frum people.
During the conference, minyanim were held 3 times a day in the hotel’s shul. There were also shiurim given in Daf Yomi (Maseches Yevamos) open for both men and women.
The introduction ceremony of new attorneys was opened with a Kapital Tehillim recited by R’ Itzik Barkahn, a Lubavitcher from the Kfar Chabad village who was certified as an outstanding student.
He was followed by Mrs. Chana Freidin, a new attorney as well who is the daughter-in-law of Levi Yitzchak Freidin OBM, the legendary photographer of the Rebbe and life at 770 Eastern Parkway. She gave a dvar Torah on the Parsha and connected it to their work.
The conference included the signing of an international treaty between the Israel Bar Association and the Bar Association of Morocco.
