A thief who stole a Talis and Tefillin from the car of a Crown Heights resident was caught on surveillance video this past Thursday.
The black male, seen on video from August 4, 7:45 am, is seen walking in the alleyway between Crown and Montgomery Streets near Brooklyn Avenue, holding a Talis bag which he took from a car parked near the alley.
The Talis and Tefillin were later found outside in the alley, without the bag.
back in the days they would use a rock and break glass into people’s cars to steal radios I have a crazy question why would a black man want to steal Tefillin? and over the past few months they’ve been stealing packages from other properties
Sorry about the loss of the bag.
You can trick the ganaf by saying “i can buy them off you”……& bust him through that way…..& wiil teach the ganaf how jews r much smarter then him…..oooooo waaaaaa.👍
7:45 am. He was going to daven. Lol. All joking aside. Leaving any visible item of value. Is an invitation for theft. Besides, tefillian in a car is detrimental to the tefillan. The heat may may damage the parshiois.
When is it enough with this people?
Nearly every crime in the CH community is committed by them along with those that are not caught… Isn’t it time to move them out
Very cute 👍🏻
Why say black man, just say a gentile, cmon were all one family!!!
Another example of wasted surveillance. Why have it if resolution is too low?
To Yehuda:
The cold? I thought only heat
Aside from the fact that they can be stolen a sofer told me that heat and cold cause the letters to fade or crack
once a guy saw a black guy selling tefillin for a very large sum of money. Instead of paying he said ok i will buy it. After looking at it he said, one second- i see the part that goes on the head and the part that goes on one arm but where is the part that goes on the other arm? Not knowing what to reply, the jew said- forget it it’s not worth anything now! So the guy said ok I will sell it to you for $10 which the jew happily agreed to pay… I heard it… Read more »
One should not leave tallis and tefillin alone in a vehicle.
