However, please take care of your cholesterol / saturated fats intake, obesity and sugar overdose too…

Secondary benefit

Like keeping kosher. We do it primarily because Hashem said so. This, that there is also a health benefit – great!

i don’t know anyone who was a tefillin user that had a heart attack.

And regular exercise and healthy eating has nothing to do with heart health.

And whatever this study did with 20 people is certainly useful for the entire human popultaion.

Interesting fact! Tefilin/accupuntur
October 13, 2018 4:29 pm

Accupunctuur.
There is another known study about the places on the body where are the teffilin -it seem that it is the, same plce used to put the accupuntur nadles .
It seem that there is a difference between sefaradish , ashkrnazish and chassidische manner to put the teffilin
And that the most effect with the acculturation nadles are the chassidische one.

Yay Cincinnati

Thanks rabbi mangel and chabad center of blue ash!

missing the point
October 12, 2018 12:49 pm

The protective part is the spiritual connection to Hashem that takes place and the protection that brings. the physical part is not what protects against heart attacks. Nevertheless it is nice to hear it said in so called medical terminology: perhaps a non frum person or doctor will be inspired through that to wear tefillin. but i think it is wrong not to mention the spiritual protection and how one connects to Hashem…

Number of study participants 20pp ?!?
October 12, 2018 11:39 am

Not a very big Maiven but from what I know I think you need more then 20 pp to do a real study. and come to real scientific conclusions if not you can always say it was by chance…that you got that results..
I say this not to cool off any enthusiasm.. rather just to say IF slandered study’s to prove things involve big numbers of participants AGAIN IM NOT A MAYVIN and you advertise something like this.. it appears as a joke and becomes counter protective.. FOR ANYONE WITH BRAINS…

After yom tov
October 12, 2018 11:18 am

So basically, watch out after yom tov. Not wearing tefillin for 9 days while indulging in high fat and high carb diet. Scary

Don't forget
October 12, 2018 10:43 am

All very nice, but keep in mind that is not the reason for doing this mitzvah

Also cerebrovascular benefits by focusing more the Circulation for 45 min to one hour, as written up about blood presure by Charles Miller-Fisher MD. Phd Neu, Neuro Phath. Printed once in New England journal of Med. And also at JAMA.
